These stories are merely a handful of those I could tell about the 101st Cavalry--stories from veterans, their children, Polish POWs rescued by the 101st Cavalry, and, in one case, the daughter of a German soldier. I wrote a couple, but others are told in the men's own words, and one is a relatively recent newspaper account. If you have a story about a World War II veteran from the 101st Cavalry, please feel free to send it to me to include in these pages.
On my blog, you can read the story of Gregor Dorfmeister, who was only 16 years old when pressed into service by the Nazi Party at the end of the war.
